  3. DC Power Distribution:

  6.     Not all shacks run DC exclusively. Some have no DC at all, 
  7. some are totally DC, but most are partial DC power.
  8.  
  9.     Many hams have rigs that are meant for mobile use and are 
  10. used as base units. Many HF rigs run on DC only and the 
  11. additional cost of a power supply is not within the wallet of 
  12. most. They resort to batteries and chargers. Some enjoy the 
  13. advantage of power on request from a battery bank, powered by 
  14. a large power supply and several batteries. No commercial 
  15. power, no problem.

  17.     Others prefer commercial supplies or many commercial 
  18. supplies; one for each radio. Some even enjoy the use of an 
  19. Uninterupted Power Supply (UPS).

  21.     Regardless of what you use, there are some DC distribution 
  22. ideas I would like to convey to the readers.

  26. DC POWER PANEL
  27.  
  28.     You may have to either distribute your DC power from one source 
  29. or recharge your several DC sources from one commercial source or
  30. a combination of the two.

  32.     Here's an example of a simple DC power panel in use here:

  34. All rigs are DC powered;

  36. o Ten-Tec Closet Kilowatt
  37. o Kenwood TS-430S
  38. o Kenwood TR-751A 
  39. o Kenwood TM-421A

  41. The battery bank consists of four deep cycle batteries rated at 
  42. 115 AH each. Power supply is a Pyramid Phase II 50A.
